IRA Approved Bullion - Products that have been approved by the US government that can be added to your IRA. The Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997 expanded the range of precious metal products eligible for inclusion in a precious metal IRA. Generally these IRA allowable coins fall into two categories:
1. Coins specially listed in the IRS code and minted by the US.
2. Coins/Bars that meet the minimum fineness requirements.

These include the following Gold, Silver, Platinum and Palladium Precious Metals coins and bars.

Collectible coins: The only collector coins presently approved for your IRA are the Gold and Silver Proof American Eagles. These are the collectors version of the uncirculated coin and must have all original box and paperwork provided by the U.S. mint.
